"Open with" Dialog in Finder

After the Upgrade from Leoprad(10.5) to Snowleopard(10.6), my context menu startet to show double entrys in the open with dialog of the finder.

I'm not sure if my SSD upgrade was the cause or the System upgrade itself.

No matter what, here is the solution:

  • open the terminal
  • copy and paste the following: 
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister  \
-kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user
  • press return

after a few seconds your contextmenu will be clean again
